Surf Your Own Site Before DNS Has Propogated
By admin | February 27, 2008
If you’ve ever changed web hosts, you know it can sometimes take a day or two before your site is accessible. This is due to the change in your site’s IP address and it’s association with your domain name. Basically all of the computers around the world must update with your site’s new information. During this period, is there a way to access your website if you can’t bear to be without it?
While using dnsless preview is an option, it doesn’t give you much control. You will have a much greater level of control when using a proxy with all the scripts enabled. Personally i use www.proxy.org and just select a random proxy and configure it’s option to meet my needs.
Give it a try the next time you you change your web host.
Thanks
